Drive to Dunnet Bay

Dunnet Bay is a two-mile long beach in Caithness, Scotland on the North Coast 500, Scotland's coastal driving route around the northern Highlands.

Here is the approach to Dunnet Bay from Castletown and Thurso along the A386 road.

The clip begins near Harbour Road in Castletown by the Castlehill Heritage Centre.

On the left, you see a long passage of sand dunes which line Dunnet Bay.

The parking for Dunnet Bay is immediately after the campsite. The beach at Dunnet is a 2-minute walk from the parking area. There is a visitor centre and public toilets at the car park. Parking is free of charge.
